Executive Director's Message

Underneath everything we are, underneath everything we do, we are all people.  Connected, interdependent, united.

And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.  That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.

Thank you for supporting United Way of Southwest Minnesota.  Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of people who live in this part of Southwest Minnesota.  And that is something to feel good about.

One of the best ways to see how your contribution is making an impact is to visit the various areas of our website.  You can find out about our progress on community issues, read about some of the people whose lives you've helped to change and sign up for our eNewsletter.

Another way to see your donation at work is to lend a hand and volunteer.  Coach a team.  Join the PTA.  Be a mentor.  Help call people to donate blood.  United Way and our community partners appreciate volunteers to help extend our reach into the community.  People who are involved in volunteer activities feel more connected to the place where they live.

On behalf of everyone in our communities and all of us at United Way, thank you for doing your part to make lasting changes right here where we live.  That's LIVING UNITED!

Ruth Ascher
