There Must be a Catch - What is it?

The only catch is that we want you to read to your child(ren)!!  Here is some additional information.

What Are My Responsibilities?

  1. Be a resident of one of the designated school districts.
  2. Submit an official registration form, completely filled out by parent or guardian (form must then be approved and on file with United Way of Southwest Minnesota), to United Way of Southwest Minnesota at PO Box 41, Marshall, MN  56258.  You can also apply online by going to our online link.
  3. Notify United Way of Southwest Minnesota any time your address changes.  Books are mailed to the address listed on the official registration form.  If the child's address changes, you must contact United Way of Southwest Minnesota at our address (or email us at unitedway@unitedwayswmn.org) in order to continue receiving books.  THE BOOKS CANNOT BE FORWARDED BY THE POSTAL SERVICE.
  4. Last, but not least, READ TO YOUR CHILD.

When will I receive books?

Eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been approved, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue until your child turns five or you move out of one of the designated school districts.

 How can I help?

Do you know a preschool child in one of the designated school districts that is not receiving Dolly Parton's Imagination Library books?  Give their parents/guardians a brochure/registration form and encourage them to fill it out and mail it to our office.  Or have them go to the Imagination Library link on our website to get more information or to register online. Telling them about this FREE program can make a huge difference in the child's future and the future of our community.

If you know of a business, organization or individual who would like to donate funds to support this gift to our children, donations can be sent to United Way of Southwest Minnesota, PO Box 41, Marshall, MN  56258 or click here for an individual pledge form....click here for a business pledge form.
