- United Way of Southwest Minnesota Awards Venture Grant for Financial ABC's Initiative

United Way of Southwest Minnesota recently presented the Marshall Area Financial Empowerment Collaborative (MFEC) with a $2,000 venture grant to help develop programs and resources to assist young families in the Marshall area with developing basic financial skills and helping them raise "money smart" children.

Through programs such as ECFE and Head Start, financial education will help families better equip their young children to deal with issues connected to money.  MFEC will contribute by offering tools on www.MarshallMoney.org, conducting training sessions for educators, and providing additional resources to these programs to help make United Way's "Financial ABC's" initiative a success.
