United Way of Southwest Minnesota Announces 2017 Campaign Chair

United Way of Southwest Minnesota announces that Amy Herrick will chair this year’s United Way Campaign for the region. Herrick is the Assistant Manager, Personal Lines Underwriting for North Star Mutual Insurance Company based in Cottonwood, Minnesota. The United Way campaign officially kicks off in September when a variety of events and information sessions will be held. Pacesetter campaigns at various workplaces have started to kick off around the region. The theme of the campaign is Every Person-Every Community.

“I am extremely honored to be chosen to chair the 2017 campaign, shared Herrick.  Chairing the campaign allows me to see firsthand the extreme generosity of folks throughout Southwest Minnesota. This is such an exciting time of year for the UWSWMN and I’m very proud to be a part of it. One person cannot take credit for the campaign. The United Way’s goals could not be reached without the support of all of our caring donors, Marcy and her staff, along with a very knowledgeable board.” This crucial position provides leadership for the campaign itself and the resource development committee, a diverse group of volunteer leaders and board directors that shape and implement strategies to meet local yearly fundraising goals.

Herrick is the latest in a long line of local leaders who have chaired the position. Lee Steffen, ADM and Julie Pederson Sanford Canby Medical Center co-chaired the campaign in 2016-17; Abby Wikelius, Lyon County Attorney’s Office chaired the campaign in 2015-16; Ben Alcorn, U.S. Bank chaired the campaign in 2014-15; Matt Weller, Centrol Crop Consulting chaired the campaign in 2013-14; and Marissa Kunde, Title & Abstract Services, LLC, was the 2012-13 campaign chair. Herrick lives in Wood Lake with husband Korey and three children, Korysa (12), Makenzie (10) and Logan (8).
