United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) reports a total of $502,000 was raised during the 2020-21 fundraising campaign. A small portion of the funds raised locally will be paid directly to local organizations as designated by the donors. All other funds raised locally will support local programming and people throughout 2021-22. Currently, 50,500 local people are being touched by the organization through internal programs, community partner programs and/or other initiatives.
Michelle Doeling and Rachel Nuese, Co-Campaign Chairs said, “What a year! Thank you to all our donors, without you $502,000 would have never happened. Every dollar matters and you helped United Way of Southwest Minnesota keep donations local to our communities that need your support now more than ever. We’re proud to be a part of this area and be a small part of this campaign; helping Every Person in Every Community.”
It might feel like it’s impossible to tackle issues like poverty, hunger or homelessness, but a donation to UWSWMN, when combined with others, can help solve those big challenges on a scale no single organization, or individual, can accomplish on their own. Every gift, no matter the amount, is foundational to the success of our communities. When our communities are stronger, we all are. The UWSWMN board of directors and staff team would like to thank everyone who donated time, funds and other resources to our campaign. Thank you for your commitment to making southwest Minnesota a better place now and for the future.
