Countryside Public Health’s MindUp Program Awarded Small Grant

The United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) Board of Directors recently approved Small Grants in Round I totaling $7,482. The Small Grant program is an outreach of the Community Impact funding process. The available amount of grant dollars each year is subject to change. One-time grants, up to $5,000, are awarded to organizations aligned with UWSWMN’s priority areas.

Countryside Public Health was the recipient of a Small Grant totaling $3,106. This one-time grant will be used to purchase supplies needed to create sensory bottles and workbooks for each second-grade student within the following school districts: Yellow Medicine East, Canby, Clarkfield, Echo Charter and Dawson Boyd.  The funds will also be used for the initial curriculum set-up and staff time to implement the curriculum.  This program aligns to UWSWMN’s safety & well-being priority area.

The other grant recipients in Round I are WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Program Inc. and Mustard Seed Kids in Balaton.
