Gruffalo Walk 2024
What is a Gruffalo? The Gruffalo is a beloved character from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. He has terrible tusks, claws, teeth, and jaws, knobby knees, turned-out toes, and a poisonous wart at the end of his nose. His eyes are orange, his tongue is black, and he has purple prickles all over his back. You will see one walking the streets of Marshall, MN, on May 23, 2024.
United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is fortunate to have Marshall’s own Troy Deutz of The Deutz Group of Edina Realty and Aaron Ziemer of KMHL Radio showing their community support by going Head-to-Head in this year’s Gruffalo Walk competition to see who can raise the most funds before noon on Thursday, May 23, 2024. All proceeds will go to support the Stuff the Bus initiative, a program that has a direct and significant impact on the lives of our local students. This initiative collects and distributes school supplies to participating schools within the service area of UWSWMN. Thanks to this initiative, in 2023, over 60,000 school supplies were distributed among 4,500 local K-12 students in our service area’s 23 schools, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in their education.
The one that raises the least funds will walk in the Gruffalo costume. Will it be Troy Deutz or Aaron Ziemer? You can support your favorite competitor by voting with your donation at one of our collection locations in Marshall, MN.
