What is a Gruffalo you might ask? The Gruffalo is a beloved character from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The Gruffalo has terrible tusks, claws, teeth and jaws, knobby knees, turned out toes, and a poisonous wort at the end of his nose. His eyes are orange, his tongue is black and he has purple prickles all over his back. And you will see one walk down East College Drive and Main Street of Marshall MN on June 29, 2022.
United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is fortunate to have two of our local businesses willing to participate in this year’s Gruffalo Walk fundraiser. Lockwood Motors and Kruse Motors are showing their community support by going Head to Head in this competition to see who can raise the most funds before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. All proceeds will support the Stuff the Bus initiative that collects supplies to be distributed to participating schools within the UWSWMN service area. Because of this initiative in 2021 over 52,000 school supplies were distributed to nearly 3,800 local K-12 students at 23 local schools.
The team that raises the least funds will have someone walking in the Gruffalo costume. Will it be Al Castor from Team Lockwood or Maxx Louwagie from Team Kruse?
