Mustard Seed Kids Kindergarten Readiness Program Awarded Small Grant

The United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) Board of Directors recently approved Small Grants in Round I totaling $7,482. The Small Grant program is an outreach of the Community Impact funding process. The available amount of grant dollars each year is subject to change. One-time grants, up to $5,000, are awarded to organizations aligned with UWSWMN’s priority areas.

Mustard Seed Kids in Balaton was the recipient of a Small Grant totaling $1,876. This one-time grant will assure children enter kindergarten developmentally on track in literacy skills, as well as in social, emotional and cognitive skills, which aligns to UWSWMN’s education priority area.

The other grant recipients in Round I are Countryside Public Health and WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Program, Inc.
