North Star Mutual Insurance Company Invests in United Way of Southwest Minnesota

North Star Mutual Insurance Company in Cottonwood just wrapped up their annual workplace campaign to benefit United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN).  UWSWMN CEO Sarah Kicmal was invited to their special campaign kick-off event this fall and spoke to the staff about why giving to UWSWMN is important and how we make a difference in the lives of local people.

In addition to their campaign support, North Star Mutual Insurance Company partners with UWSWMN year round. They engage their staff with a variety of unique fundraisers throughout the year to support UWSWMN including a popular silent auction, golf tournament and “taking steps for United Way”.  They also participate annually with us in our Stuff the Bus initiative by internally collecting school supplies and volunteering on distribution day.  

Throughout the year, employees contributed $33,249.49 through payroll pledges, donations, and special events. North Star Mutual Insurance Company made an additional investment of $33,993.49 for a total campaign of $67,242.98.
