United Way of Southwest Minnesota Announces Opening of Community Impact Grant Applications
United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is excited to announce that the Community Impact Grant application process will open on March 6, 2025.
UWSWMN invests donations into our communities through Community Impact Grants, focusing on four key areas: Youth Opportunity, Healthy Communities, Financial Security, and Community Resilience. Programs that receive funding are selected based on their significant impact on residents in Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Yellow Medicine, and parts of Cottonwood, Lac qui Parle, Nobles, and Redwood counties in Minnesota. Eligible programs must adhere to our guidelines, align with at least one of our priority areas, serve individuals within our service area, and be a 501(c)(3) organization, public school, or government unit. We welcome new grant requests that meet these criteria. For detailed guidelines, please visit UnitedWaySWMN.org/CIG.
First-time grant applicants are required to attend a free grant workshop. These workshops provide essential information to help you succeed with your application, including insights into the UWSWMN grant process and tips on grant writing. The workshops will be held in person on the following dates and times:
• Thursday, March 6, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am
• Friday, March 14, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
For questions or to RSVP, please email unitedway@unitedwayswmn.org or call 507-929-2273.
Grant applications are due by April 4, 2025, at 4:00 pm. No extensions will be granted. Community volunteers will review all applications, and the UWSWMN board will make the final funding decisions.
"We are committed to supporting programs that make a real difference in our community," said Meg Louwagie, CEO of UWSWMN. "Our Community Impact Grants are designed to empower organizations that align with our mission and help improve the lives of those we serve."
