United Way of Southwest Minnesota announced today that Brooke Struwe will intern with the organization for a minimum of 120 hours. Throughout this internship, she will gain an insight into some of the responsibilities and skills needed in a nonprofit setting with a focus on communications and public relations.
Struwe grew up in Estelline, SD and graduated from Estelline High School. She is currently a senior at Southwest Minnesota State University with a major in Communication Studies and Public Relations and a minor in Marketing.
The United Way of Southwest Minnesota administers the following internal programs across Southwest Minnesota: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, Born Learning Trails, Imagination Library, Read for the Record, Wild About Reading, Stuff the Bus, Little Red Bookshelf, Wild About Kindergarten School Readiness Kits, Get Connected volunteer platform, Student Emergency Fund grants, and the Beyond the Book Online Activity Center.
