The 2022 United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive distribution day has been completed. Over 56,000 school supplies were collected and distributed to 3,000 K-12 students at 22 local schools within our service area. Each school determines its own distribution process to ensure the supplies reach students who need them. Those in need of supplies should contact their school for details regarding distribution.
Meg Louwagie, UWSWMN CEO shared “Distribution day was full of excitement as the volunteers sorted and staged the supplies for the schools to pick up. I spoke with one volunteer who is a retired teacher and now assists with the distribution for a local school. She told me of the direct impact these supplies have on the students in her area. I am truly impressed by the generosity and support of our community.”
The Stuff the Bus initiative would not be possible without the considerable support from our volunteers as well as the many organizations, churches, businesses, and employee groups that collected school supplies as well as financial donations. Because of you, each and every notebook, glue stick, and box of crayons makes an impact for a local child to help them succeed and thrive in school.
Thank you for supporting Stuff the Bus this year.
