SWWC Foundation for Innovation in Education receives Community Impact Grant

The SWWC Foundation for Innovation in Education has been awarded a community impact grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) in the amount of $4,000 to invest in the SWWC Service Cooperative’s Student Enrichment Programs.  Their programs are offered to assist K-12 students in finding their passion in life by providing high-quality enrichment opportunities.  This work aligns with UWSWMN’s education priority area.

UWSWMN makes a difference in the lives of local people by investing in programs focused on the health, education, financial stability, hunger, and safety & well-being of people living in our service area.  Our service area includes the communities we serve in Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Yellow Medicine, and portions of Cottonwood, Lac qui Parle, Nobles, and Redwood counties in Minnesota. 

Community impact grants are the primary way UWSWMN invests donations into our communities.  The community impact grant process involves local volunteers who help review funding requests and collaborate to make funding recommendations to our board of directors.  For the 2022-23 funding cycle, a total of $212,822 has been awarded to programs working to improve the lives of local people.
