Kitchen Table Food Shelf receives Community Impact Grant
The Kitchen Table Food Shelf program of United Community Action Partnership has been awarded a community impact grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) in the amount of $40,822. These funds will be used to help fund the Kitchen Table Food Shelfs in Tracy and Marshall to address food insecurity needs. This work aligns with UWSWMN’s hunger priority area.
UWSWMN makes a difference in the lives of local people by investing in programs focused on the health, education, financial stability, hunger and safety & well-being of people living in our service area. Our service area includes the communities we serve in Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Yellow Medicine and portions of Cottonwood, Lac qui Parle, Nobles and Redwood counties in Minnesota.
Community impact grants are the main way UWSWMN invests donations back into our communities. The community impact grant process involves local volunteers who help review funding requests and work together to make funding recommendations to our board of directors. For the 2022-23 funding cycle a total of $212,822 has been awarded through this process to programs working to improve the lives of local people.
