William Arthur Ward once said, “A warm smile is the universal language of kindness."
What does kindness look like to you? Is it a warm smile and happy greeting from the staff at your local store? Could it be holding the door for someone else to enter? Or letting another car in front of you during the busy traffic? How about taking time to help someone in need within your community?
November 14th-18th, United Ways across Minnesota will participate in United Acts of Kindness week. We could all use a little more kindness in our lives, and these past few years have been challenging for many, but a small act of kindness can go a long way in making a difference. United Way of Southwest Minnesota encourages everyone to take up this challenge, try at least one act of kindness each day, and inspire others to do the same.
Acts of kindness can be as simple as a 30-second compliment or as complex as a list of acts to accomplish over the entire week. Whatever it is, your kindness will surely bring a smile to someone's face.
Do you want to share your acts of kindness to inspire or challenge others to do the same? For social media, use #MNACTSOFKINDNESS #LIVEUNITEDMN or send your photos and details to us so we can share them for you. Please email them to: unitedway@unitedwayswmn.org.
On November 14th -18th, be part of United Way Acts of Kindness Week. Brighten someone's day, week, or even year by doing something kind. Join us, get involved, and let's scatter kindness throughout southwest Minnesota.
