United Way of Southwest Minnesota Announces 2022 Campaign Chair

Campaign PhotoUnited Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is excited to announce that Hans Zahrbock will chair this year’s annual campaign. Zahrbock has been a long time resident of Marshall, MN and is Vice President/Business Relationship Manager for Western Equipment Finance here in Marshall.  This year’s campaign theme is Live United to the Power of 5. “Living United to the Power of 5” is meant to show us how every effort can go so much further when we work together.  So, if each of us takes the time to donate $5, tell 5 friends, give 5 hours, invite 5 people to join in the campaign and then add 5 more, the result will be exponential growth.

Our goal is to be able to continue to support the various programs that will help our communities grow and become stronger. By working together we can cause a ripple effect that will lead to substantial impact for every person in every community we serve, every day of the year, shared Zahrbock.  Zahrbock has resided in Marshall since 1994 with his wife, Shana and two children, Sadie Schaefer and husband Nolan Schaefer, son Simon and fiancée Morgan Kommer.

In this position, Zahrbock will provide leadership for the campaign itself and the resource development committee. The committee is made up of a diverse group of volunteers who serve on the UWSWMN board of directors.  They will work together to help shape and implement strategies to meet this year’s fundraising goal of $550,000.

Zahrbock is the latest in a long line of local leaders who have served in this position. Al Castor (Lockwood Motors) chaired in 2021-22, while Rachel Nuese (Schwan Shared Services LLC) and Michelle Doeling (Minnwest Bank) co-chaired the campaign in 2020-21.  Doeling also chaired the campaign in 2019-20, while Melanie Pedersen (U.S. Bank) chaired the 2018-19 campaign, and Amy Herrick (North Star Mutual Insurance Company) chaired the 2017-18 campaign.
